Been thinking about this a good bit lately and I'm toying with the idea of doing some commissions.

That said, I'm not sure what to charge so I'm going to offer up 4 or 5 free commission sketches to anyone that wants one just to get the ball rolling.

Finally got a new scanner so I'm going to start updating a bit more regularly (hopefully).

I've spent the last few months brewing over the ideas I mentioned before, and recently it feels as if everything, ideas I've had for 17 years even, are all finally starting to slot into place.  The characters I've carried with me for years finally feel as if they have something to say, I only hope I'm upto it.

I've posted a few pages showing the first appearance of one of the few brand new characters in my universe.  The stories themselves will, for now at least be set in and around Northern Ireland, Belfast mainly, although other areas such as Liverpool and London will feature in it down the line.

I'm looking at a set of short stories introducing each of the characters and connecting them to each other. The above is from the second story, featuring the meeting between the main character from the first story, 'Greenfly', coming across the mysterious 'Hood'.

Of the other main characters, I'll try and upload some pics of them over the next few days, I might even manage a group shot.  

In the world these stories take place in, super heroes are real.  They first appeared in the late 60's and 70's, but the majority of them have become government sanctioned.  Some working for their national military, some for agencies like the UN and Interpol, but most of them are just celebrities.  Vigilanteeism is frowned upon, although superheros are not strictly illegal.

Into this world come five very different individuals, each aiming to make a difference in the world, for various reasons.  Unfortunately, I can't tell you much more or I'd spoil the stories.

It's weird, I've been looking back through my gallery and I don't think I've managed to upload much stuff thats truly representative of my work, so from here on out I'm going to start making a concerted effort to get more and more varied stuff up on here, not least to try and figure out waht I want to do with my art.

For the longest time all I was drawing was wrestling characters from a message board I frequent, but recently I found a folder full of drawings of characters I came up with when I was 11 or 12 and it's like it sparked something in my brain.  Since then I've been sketching non-stop, rejigging and decluttering my original concepts, trying to gel them into something that fits with my current view of how I would like to deal with superheroes.

In all honesty, i'm quite pleased with how it's taking shape.  I have younger heroes with cobbled together costumes made with fancy dress costumes mixed with second hand wrestling gear off of eBay, and older heroes with their gadgets and slick costumes and government contracts.  Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a new scanner for cheap in the next week or so and start uploading sketches, maybe even some of the embarressingly bad art from 16 odd years ago that has sparked my sudden interest in drawing again...

Well, it's been a while, but I'm back.

I've been without net access for a while, so in a quick update, I changed jobs, got a new car, one of our hamsters had a stroke (but it's okay now) and oh, yeah, I got engaged.

We've moved to Northern Ireland from England, which is going okay, although it's taken us a bit longer than we would have liked to get our feet underneath us, but slowly, things are settling into place.

What this means is that I haven't had time to do much of anything recently, and I can't show most of what I have done as my scanner finally passed on during the move.

I've started using XSI again, theres a wip pic in my scraps of my latest, a model of one of 's Herocorp character, though I'm going to have to redo it to catch up with the current look of the character.  I have a few others on the way, Beaverman, another of Striffle's awesome characters, and the other is Alcohol, my own character who I've been redesigning and toying with as of late.

So there we have it, pretty much everything going on in my life...

...quite worrying how short an entry it is really, but oh well...
